Where the name Ordo comes from¶
Ordo is a Latin word. It primarily means order, row, series, or methodical arrangement.
That root is the foundation of ideas we still use in English — including the modern word system: a set of parts arranged so they work together.
Why that name for this product¶
Insurance payment posting is a pipeline of ordered steps:
- The remittance arrives.
- Patients and procedure lines are read from the page.
- Someone matches them to the Open Dental chart.
- Someone posts the payment.
- Someone can later audit who did what.
Ordo is the desk that keeps that work in order — a clear row of files, a series of statuses, and a methodical path from upload to post. The name is a nod to that arrangement, not to replacing Open Dental as your practice management system.
